WILD SIBERIAN REISHI

Reishi (Ganoderma lucidum) grows as a hard, lacquered bracket on dead and dying hardwood, and its glossy, varnished surface makes it one of the most recognisable polypores in the northern forest. Chinese and Japanese records have documented it for well over two thousand years under the names lingzhi and reishi. We forage ours by hand in Siberian woodland, far from roads and industry, and then we dry each piece slowly at low temperature.

Wild reishi differs from the cultivated kind in one practical way: it grows slowly on standing deadwood, so the flesh turns denser and woodier. That density then shapes every format we offer.

Three formats

  • Chunks, 50 g — whole wild reishi that we cut and dry, which suits long, slow decoctions.
  • Capsules, 100 pcs — finely milled reishi in a fixed, countable unit. See our full capsule range for other species.
  • Double-extracted tincture, 50 ml — since reishi is hard and woody, a single extraction leaves part of the material behind. We therefore run a water phase and an alcohol phase separately, combine them, and bottle the result in dark glass. Our other tinctures and ferments follow the same principle.

Chaga, another slow-growing forest polypore, responds to the same approach, and many collectors keep both side by side.

Storage and shipping

Keep chunks and capsules in a sealed container in a dry, cool place away from direct light, and store the tincture upright with the cap firmly closed. We ship worldwide in sealed, moisture-protected packaging.

Not a medicinal product, and we make no health claims. Store out of reach of young children.
